The studio decided that the movie should be G-rated, cuz, you know, the wee ones LOVE Rodney! Go to Full Review

The most interesting aspect is Rodney Dangerfield's transformation into a cartoon character. Go to Full Review

Hermione S Dec 21, 2018 Rover Dangerfield has good animation - even with varying character designs such as Rover himself being modeled after Rodney Dangerfield including staring into space, the humans looking like they belong in a Ralph Bakshi cartoon and the other animals looking like Disney rejects -, the voice actors do a bang-up job with their characters and there's an amusing bit of black comedy I won't dare spoil. Also, that Christmas Tree song will get stuck in your head for a while. But the movie suffers from having forgettable songs, lack of any genuine laughs, uninteresting story and uncertain target audience thanks to the EEEEEEVIL meddlesome executives. The movie was meant to be R-rated but Warner Bros. had it watered down so that it could be a G-rated musical to follow Disney's '90s trend of animated musicals. This explains why the movie has surprisingly adult content for what on the surface appears to be a harmless cartoon about a city dog on a farm. Rover Dangerfield is the dog who gets no respect and his movie deserves no respect at all...okay, some but not much. See more
Luke P May 29, 2018 A wonderful animated film for children and adults alike. The story line is there, just unfortunately it feels like the script could have gone through a few more drafts before the film was completed. See more
George S Jan 29, 2017 Nice Animation. I liked this movie.
