Since winning the lottery in high school and blowing all the money within three years, Mitch has moved back in with his family. When his father retires and starts to talk about downsizing, Mitch gets the idea of renting a room to someone, and that someone is a stranger named Carl. With a supporting cast of local actors - Tom Anniko, John B. Lowe, Ernesto Griffith, Adriana O'Neil among them - the film is a decent quirky comedy that rises above a support-your-local-film-industry rationale to go see it.

A quirky comedy with a lot of 'tude mostly in the shape of high school lottery winner Mitch who burned through $3.5 M and wound up in his parents' spare room.

The screenplay is a little thin -- it's never quite clear why Mitch remains so thoroughly unemployable -- but the performances are good, with Gelman particularly committed to the cause.

It's not a gut-buster, but Room for Rent certainly hits a pleasing, enjoyable comedic sweet spot.

Started as a somewhat promising dry humor film, but itï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s climax was uninteresting, the jokes werenï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)t funny, and had us wondering why we were watching this movie.

This movie just wasn't entertaining for the few of us who watched it. Not sure why it got such good reviews.

I resent paying money to waste my time watching such an awful movie, but I resent doubly that my taxes helped produce this dreck.
