What to Know

Critics Consensus

Though Rocket Science appears to be a typically quirky indie, the well-rounded performances and director Jeffrey Blitz's clear affection for his characters gives the film its proper human spark.

Humor, compassion, tenderness, forgiveness and friendship. The trials and tribulations of youth and of life told with heartfelt emotion and some well executed deadpan comedy. A little off-beat and a lot of fun. Go to Full Review

Jul 20, 2018 Although well acted and supported by a fitting soundtrack, this sad movie never quite makes it to even a quite "yes". Of all the words that come to my mind when thinking about this movie, clever is not one of them. Bleak, droll, uncomfortable, tasteless, and overall just gross: THOSE words are what comes to mind. If you have ever seen an awkward teen go through awkward experiences then you have seen thus movie, but chances are you lived it or witnessed it. This offers nothing new to the table.... Except of course the really raunchy sexual "humor" that embarrassed the 12 yearold who wrote the only scene in this movie that is even possible to pretend is romantic. See more
Abraham M May 2, 2017 the soundtrack would get 3 stars by itself.
Hermione S Feb 25, 2017 Well made but ridiculously unbelievable.
Abraham L Feb 18, 2017 Pretty Boring with touch of gloom....I am not a big fan of debate teams and thought it would be good cuz I love Anna Kendrick....but this is not her best work.. See more
Poe L Sep 1, 2007 The plot was surprisingly surprising.. Well-acted, good soundtrack, very real. I have a feeling this film will haunt me for a long time for better or worse. See more
