In the final reel, the tone suddenly shifts from laughs to a deliberately quirky romance that feels forced and, worse, doesn't work. Go to Full Review

Comedian Adam Carolla mines his own career experiences to amusing effect in his semi-autobiographical dark comedy about an embittered stand-up comic. Go to Full Review

A lot rings painfully true about showbiz in Road Hard, a bittersweet look at a middle-aged comic dealing with a stalled career. Go to Full Review

Here's a comedy about a stand-up comedian trying to get out of the comedy business. And here's my advice to him: Don't quit your day job. You're good at it, and it serves the movie. Go to Full Review

Rey S Apr 27, 2019 I was a daily listener of podcast during the crowd funding of the film and was looking forward to it. It was NOT good at all. It as pretty lousy and actually a waste of time. I was a small contributor to the project (and never got my prize by the way, great job guys) as I thought this movie would deliver. This film is literally a re-heating of A TON of bits from his daily podcast. When I saw The Hammer back in the day I don't think that he had his podcast yet so it came off as a fresh and new movie style I had never seen. It was funny, clever and the acting was really good as well. This movie was written between episodes of podcasts on the way to meetings and during plane trips across the US and it really shows. It was unoriginal and uncreative. If you were a contributor to this movie, you can't help but feel cheated bu the end result. The main character came of as mostly unlikeable and just a pile of jealousy of others success but not willing to work hard to achieve his own. Even the ending illustrates his lack of desire to succeed in the business. Really bad and sad movie. Over promised and REALLY under delivered. See more
Hermione S Apr 15, 2019 Adam Carolla is much funnier in real life. This was contrived - poorly written.
George G Mar 1, 2019 A slow, horrible film that only gets a high audience rating because its crowdfunded by fans. Adams face appears to be shot with Botox. Its expressionless dead-pan from start to finish. No Buster Keaton! Should have been called Watchhard. I want 98 minutes of my life back. See more
Abraham G Feb 25, 2018 One of my favorite comedies of all time.
Abraham P May 1, 2017 Very good. Low budget but the story makes up for the California NH.
Kylo R Jan 24, 2017 Pretty good movie. I love Adam Carolla and everything he puts out, so I had high hopes for this movie. I though some of the supporting cast could have been better, didn't really like the ex-wife and daughter. And the new girlfriend was kinda dry and monotonous. But overall I did enjoy this film and it's worthy of a positive review, thumbs up, 4 stars. (I did like The Hammer a little bit better.) See more
