A young woman wakes, trapped, kidnapped in an elevator of a super high rise building at the mercy of her tormentors. This stylistic thriller, set in Shanghai, explores a young woman's instinct to survive in a situation out of her control. Trapped, without any form of escape, and cocooned in the belly of the beast, Aria is forced to adapt her thinking, her beliefs and her endurance. This is the first of the journeys that assault her mind and her senses, pinning her down in anguish only to emerge connected to abilities that define who she truly is.

Rising Wolf gets so caught up in the idea of a supposed potential franchise that it forgets to make you care about the film you're currently watching.

A confusing and derivative Aussie combo of hostage thriller and sci-fi fantasy.

It makes for a solid sci-fi thriller but is much more complicated than a movie about a woman stuck inside a yo-yo elevator needs to be.

Charlotte Best does a fantastic job and there are some impressive effects. The premise is an interesting one, but the lack of cohesive story is hurts the overall impact.

Overheated performances and an absurd premise are among the many reasons to give this elevator death-trap thriller (yes really) a pass.

"Rising Wolf" has one thing in its favor: it's a killer elevator movie. Okay, so not the good kind of killer elevator movie.
