Vincent is an ex-criminal who more than anything, just wants a normal, peaceful life. He and his wife Sandy have built a loving family with their son DJ and are spending the winter break in a cabin before he goes off to college. Chaos ensues when Vincent's disowned son Rocco, his girlfriend Marina and Vincent's ex-wife Ruth abruptly show up to spoil the festivities with an ominous warning: the famed gangsters Leftie and Lonnie are coming for them.

Critics Consensus

Riff Raff assembles an incredible cast who are a pleasure to be around, but it should be a bit more fun with this much comedic talent involved.

It feels at times like one of Quentin Tarantino’s shonkier, uglier late-career efforts... But the cast’s enthusiasm, especially that of Coolidge and Murray who are willing to play the most loathsome of people, makes up for a lot.

With a cast such as this, you would think the story would match the talent but unfortunately, this is where Riff Raff falls into the trap on relying on the actors' good names to prop up a limp predictable story.

Miraculously, despite the complexity it's still a fun trip without growing overwhelming, while its sprinkling of Hollywood royalty adds a touch of class.

There are moments in Riff Raff where you can sense uncertainty at different aspects of the production. On a higher level, it doesn’t know where it wants to go.
