Richie Rich (Macaulay Culkin) has every toy any little boy could ever want, in addition to an adoring mother (Christine Ebersole) and father (Edward Herrmann). The one thing Richie doesn't have is friends. When his parents suddenly go missing, Richie suspects an executive (John Larroquette) in the family company is to blame. Setting out to solve the mystery, Richie hooks up with a group of kids who prove they just might fill the void in his life, while helping him save his folks.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

With Macaulay Culkin barely registering any emotion, Richie Rich feels disjointed and free of a sense of fun and wonderment.

Most of the time, Richie Rich is too busy oohing and ahhing over the junk that money can buy to relax and have a good time. Go to Full Review

Mar 30, 2019 It's a good movie for family.
Finn R Dec 8, 2018 Richie Rich has heartwarming moments, a few funny moments and benefits from having Jonathan Hyde playing the butler but the movie suffers from a poor performance from Macaulay Culkin, even if it isn't entirely his fault, rather unrealistic characterizations and being quite generic and dumbed down. I didn't hate this movie, I just found it to be utterly forgettable with a couple of pointless scenes, mainly some egregious McDonalds product placement. See more
Draco G Mar 20, 2017 It's a movie that does a good job of entertaining younger audiences while not completely boring older ones. It is pretty interesting to see an over the top wealthy family. I enjoyed the humorous side of the movie when I was younger and think this movie is pretty underrated. It's harmless fun that people of all ages can enjoy together. See more
Ron P Feb 1, 2017 It's good movie to watch
Leia W Aug 24, 2015 I can't say this is a great movie, but it was a cute watch. I loved the kids in executive class faxing notes to one another.
Rey R Jul 23, 2015 I enjoyed it when I was a kid, but when I grew up, I finally began to understand why it doesn't hold up that well. You know there is something sinisterly wrong with your film when the protagonist not only doesn't emote that well, but plays out the "Neh neh neh, neh neh neh, I'm better than yoooouuu!"kind of quality! What a little douchebag! From beginning to end, after the villian is put in his place, do you expect this kid to learn anything from this story? Ha! We wish!Yep, skip it! See more
