What to Know

Critics Consensus

Undeniably lowbrow but surprisingly sly, Revenge of the Nerds has enough big laughs to qualify as a minor classic in the slobs-vs.-snobs subgenre.

While much is in the Animal House vein and quite funny, several tasteless episodes mar the film. Go to Full Review

If you've seen Porky's, Animal House, D.C. Cab, or Police Academy, you've seen Nerds. And if you liked the prototypes, you'll like the latest of the genre, low humor and all -- belching, mooning, panty raids, peeping at girls and booger jokes. Go to Full Review

Simple-minded romp about a group of freshmen outcasts doesn't qualify for the dean's list, but Revenge of the Nerds shows more than enough smarts to deserve passing grades. Go to Full Review

Hagrid L Mar 4, 2019 One of the best party comedies and revenge films of the 80's by far. Every time I wanna spiritual boost or wanna watch something un PC and fun I always put the blu ray of this in and it does the trick. It was an underdog in every possible way from how it was created and funded, to Fox not believing in it, to it being a surprise hit. Along with Rocky easily one of the best surprise hit movies. This one wouldn't fly now due to the I'm offended crowd but it's still a fun watch all these years later. The sequels.. I need to watch those again. See more
Anakin P Feb 5, 2019 Very funny, but at the same time a feel good, underdog movie.
Feb 2, 2019 The best inspiring comedy movie ever made!
Han P Mar 25, 2018 A raunchy college sex comedy, like Animal House, of jocks vs nerds. It wasn't great or intelligent or super funny or groundbreaking but it had charm and remains a cult classic. See more
Finn L Dec 23, 2017 Revenge of the Nerds is a very fun movie that almost anyone can relate too, it has a few issues such as the pacing and the very short length of the movie, but besides that it`s cringe-worthy jokes will keep you entertained the whole way through. See more
Oct 28, 2017 fantastic film still get a laugh years later.
