Philippe Delambre has been wrestling with his family legacy for years, knowing that his father perished as a result of his experiments in teleportation. Though warned by his uncle Francois, Philippe insists on refurbishing his father's laboratory and continuing his investigations. Aside from a few horrific moments in a mortuary and the sick guinea pig experiment, director Edward Bernds sadly stresses plot gimmicks at the expense of an involving story. Go to Full Review

Violence is similarly more frequent and graphic, but it's the anticipated and appropriately ghastly climactic reveal - all too familiar in design yet tremendously satisfying - that proves to be a genuine crowd-pleaser. Go to Full Review

Kylo R Jun 8, 2018 An underrated film that deserves more love than it's gotten.
Kylo W Nov 23, 2017 Cheaply made sequel is still entertaining, but nowhere as good as the original horror classic (although, SPOILER ALERT, you do get a half man/half guinea pig at one point). The story picks up years later with the son of the original film's scientist attempting to recreate his father's teleportation experiments, which inadvertently turned him into a half-man/half-fly. Vincent Price is the only returning actor from the original film. Also highlighting the films cheap nature is that it was shot in black & white instead of in vivid color. The original film had more intrigue and mystery around what happened to the scientist who locked himself away from his family and who was keeping his face hidden following his experiments, but that mystery was already revealed by the time this sequel came around, so instead we have a dull story about corporate espionage and business rivals trying to steal the technology. Still, "Return of the Fly" is an unpretentious campy good time, especially when a man and a guinea pig are teleported together, as well as, once again, a man and a house fly. See more
Hagrid W Oct 14, 2017 I followed up my first time watch of the original with this sequel, and while it's perfectly fine, it ends up feeling like just more of the same, with our tragic lead's son following in his footsteps and tampering in God's domain, ending up with virtually the same fly head and arm for hsi troubles! Vincent Price returns, this time as uncle to the younger fly, and he's fine in his role, but this didn't really blow my skirt up overall. Rental? See more
