George W Dec 30, 2018 Its one of the best of charlie's cowboy movies
Harry L Aug 23, 2017 Naturally silly in its concept, 'Red Sun' could have pushed its extravaganzas one bit further in order to be more preposterous and to emphasize its satirical and comical aspect in the manner of some late Spaghetti Westerns. Still, Young's film, by first associating the creator of the lone warrior archetype, (Toshiro Mifune) to the legendary "man with the harmonica" (Charles Branson), that is, by associating Westerns and Chanbaras, and then completing the trio with the iconic and legendary Alain Delon (without forgetting Ursula Andress) has its arguments (though it does waste some of the formidable talents of its leads). But I guess that's the risk taken with an All-Star cast - too difficult to get at its height. Besides, the cinematography of the film isn't that awful, and the most important, it's entertaining enough. See more
