Raw is one of those horror films that really sticks with you. Not because it plants a horrific imprint on your brain but because it is a genre film with a real arthouse feel that further enhances the film.

summery: basically, the movie is about a vegetarian going to a vet school where she consumes raw meat for the first time. thus, making her crave humans instead. my opinion: i have mixed emotions about this movie. to say the least it was quite odd. at some points of the movie, i was completely confused and trying to find a good explanation of what was going on because a few parts just didn't make sense or they just did really add up to what was going on in the story itself. i can see how when watching the movie, some people in the theatre may have fainted but i've seen plenty horror movie that are more graphic than this one. i guess some people just haven't really been introduced to human-eating-human kind of movies. on the other hand i liked the overall idea that the movie maker was leaning towards and it did have some pretty heavy shots which i happen to like when watching horror movies. it had its ups and downs but i can't really recommend you watch this if you're not looking to be underwhelmed.

Frequently very uncomfortable to watch, this cool modern French horror deals with blood, meat, sexual awakening, cruelty and cannibalism with a detachment and intelligence that is almost refreshing. As far from the Hollywood of torture porn as you could expect, and all the better for it.
