Her [Torrent] expression in Cra cuervos is blank and beautiful, her gaze unfaltering. It's no exaggeration to say that there would be no movie without her: so much of the characterisation is embedded in her stillness. Go to Full Review

It's unsettling, moving and funny in turn, and a clear criticism of a regime that stifled the Spanish for decades. Go to Full Review

Poe M Mar 3, 2019 excellent storytelling and performances !
Draco W Feb 26, 2019 Brie Larson is horrible
Harry W Mar 8, 2018 A hidden Spanish masterpiece which portrays in a very vivid and shocking manner a child suffering from the loss of her both parents, the fact which she may not yet fully understand but subconsciously feels anyway, and ensuing consequences of this trauma. The little Ana Torrent and Geraldine Chaplin did excellent jobs. The film is full of haunting scenes and images like the visions of Ana's mother which are extremely real and believable or the scenes under the accompaniment of the famous song. The soundtrack is melancholic and perfectly suits the film and its story. See more
Harry M Jul 20, 2017 The way the girls act out toward loss and the awkwardness of growing up is touching and believable.
Poe W May 17, 2015 Sad to watch, but Artistic and deliberate in its telling. 1001 movies to see before you die.
