Critics Consensus

Racing Stripes might be good for a few laps with younger viewers, but it's too blandly predictable to truly recommend for an all-ages audience.

Part earnest, old-fashioned melodrama, part wisecracking broad comedy, Racing Stripes is a film divided against itself. Go to Full Review

There's something oddly satisfying about seeing a notoriously disobedient wild animal like a zebra racing alongside horses. Go to Full Review

Luke L Nov 16, 2018 This film was unwatchable.
Abraham G Oct 29, 2018 Racing Stripes tries to be like Babe, hoping to connect to audiences like the 1995 film had done. The new film has many of the same qualities, but it isn't as fresh, as witty, or as affecting as the pig starring film was. The concept of making animals talk is always tricky, and, for the most part, director Frederik Du Chau pulls it off. The animals' mouths move in a believable fashion, and the vocal cast is first-rate. The fault lies in the script), which doesn't believe that the animals have much worth saying to adult audience members. However, for the right demography (I am guessing pre-teen girls) this would be a nice film to sit and watch. (Watch it only if you are accompanying a young girl). See more
Ron W Apr 1, 2018 Cute and imaginative but overall, this movie suffers from a terrible story and even worse dialogue.
Poe M Jul 14, 2017 what is a great actor like bruce greenwood doing in a sh*t box movie without any sense of humor come on!
Theodore S Mar 12, 2017 One of my favorite kid movies
Ron G Dec 11, 2016 Disgusting; unfunny and choppy. Racing Stripes doesn't show any family-friendly message and only shares a thin plot; so predictable as its unremeakable characters. See more
