Pottersville is one of two things, the worst Christmas movie ever or the best movie ever. Go to Full Review

In a year full of disturbing events, there's something uniquely unsettling about seeing Michael Shannon look as shaken as the rest of us. Maynard might save Christmas, but we all lose a little something along the way. Go to Full Review

A good-hearted but overly broad and underwhelming debut. Go to Full Review

Pottersville is an undeniably bad movie; regardless of whether its script is a self-aware or how good the acting is, it's an outlandish story that finds resolution by cribbing heavily from It's A Wonderful Life. Go to Full Review

Poe W Apr 19, 2019 Give it a chance, I found the movie charming, but silly ï¿ 1/2(TM)
Kylo G Mar 17, 2019 I absolutely adore this movie. The acting is superb. The cast is comprised wholly of the very best actors on the planet. The plot was so moving I wept tears of joy and or sorrow. I rate this a G out of 16 and declare as king of Narnia that it is mandatory for viewing by all humans. See more
Poe R Dec 27, 2018 Such a fun and goofy adventure. Full of some really great actors, this movie is full of laughs and ridiculous concepts. A perfect choice for the holidays with the (adult) family, for a fun movie night. See more
George L Dec 26, 2018 With the literally hundreds of terrible "cutesie Christmas" movies flooding Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc... this time of year, it's almost painful to try to find anything worth watching. I have never - and will never - watch a single "The Prince Who Didn't Know He Was A Price Until Christmas And Then He Found His Soul-Mate Working At The Local Coffee Shop And Made Her A Christmas Princess" flick. However, as I was trying to dig my way past all of those, I noticed the top billed cast for "Pottersville" and decided to take a chance. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many familiar faces! There is a sweet tongue-in-cheekiness, as well as a few well placed winks to the weird (like our favorite lovable red spawn of hell, Ron Perlman, as a "furry" - a wolf, not a squirrel) that kept a smile on my face. Yes, I know this sappy crap is exactly that - but this one KNOWS it's sappy crap and doesn't try to tug at the easy heart-strings. Also, as a 44 year old woman who grew up in the Midwest (and is raising my family in the same city), I remember the sinking feeling our entire community experienced during the Reagan era mass lay-offs, business closings, and farm bankruptcies. Our city was lucky in that one large manufacturer was able to hang in there and eventually call many workers back. But we were in a bad way - my dad was laid off and taking any work he could get. We actually installed a wood burning stove in the basement, disconnected the furnace, and heated our home with wood that my family went to chop almost every weekend at a friend's large propriety (we got free wood in exchange for my dad doing manual labor for this guy) - we had to do this for two years. So, even though the "dying town" flicks don't usually draw me in, for some reason this one really brought back all those feelings, while keeping me smiling. See more
Anakin W Dec 24, 2018 Yes, it is a dumb movie and premise, but I still enjoyed it. I see nothing wrong in enjoying something that is absolutely preposterous. It's still better than the nightly news. See more
Kylo R Dec 8, 2018 This movie is great. It's got that fuzzy hallmark made for tv movie feel combined with Wes Anderson. This movie is not going to appeal to everyone. I saw the low ratings and expected it to be terri-bad, but it was actually really good. They played it as sincere and it somehow works. A man gets blackout drunk on moonshine and accidentally becomes bigfoot and single handedly revives the town's economy. Everyone is kooky and weird. I would watch several seasons of this tv show.
