Don Coscarelli outdoes the humor of John Hughes in what feels like a more honest version of the gleeful sadism in Home Alone. Go to Full Review

Has none of the surrealistic excess that made the first movie such a genuine delight, and managed to save the second one from itself. Go to Full Review

It's all fairly absurd, but Coscarelli retains his enthusiasm and imagination with a healthy sense of ridiculousness. Go to Full Review

Sure, there's still the '71 Hemi 'Cuda and the four-barrel shotgun, but it's not enough to get past nunchucks and biker zombies. Go to Full Review

The first film is like an actual nightmare, whereas the sequels feel more like someone's garish descriptions of a nightmare. Go to Full Review

Anakin W May 16, 2018 4/5 Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead is a solid sequel with some greta gore, and practical effects. Plus it has one of the best performances form a child actor ever and a great ending. The narrative isn't great, and there is a creepy scene between two of the leaves, but it's still a really good horror sequel. See more
Hermione P Nov 5, 2017 A lot more dark humour as Reggie turns into an action hero.
Finn P Sep 23, 2017 Shows some background on creatures, Reggie recruits little boy and black woman. Brother is a sphere and looks like boy turns into one as well See more
Abraham G Jun 12, 2017 This movie is par for the course. It is just as bad as the others, but like the others, it managed to captivate me into watching it all the way till the end. It has a few decent horror gags, and I appreciate them trying to add a bit of lore to it, but overall, I found it to be mediocre. See more
Kylo M May 21, 2017 They're really starting to get gonzo at this point. Again, it further develops the mythology and explains a few things, but then they lose points by bringing back the old Mike, who just kind of sucks. Reggie is still hilarious and gets some awesome moments. And the home alone stuff was kind of amusing, if for no other reason than the absurdity of it. See more
Abraham S Mar 17, 2017 My goodness these films aren't getting any better. I recently watched all the films in this series. I feel that they haven't settled on who they want to be the hero or coherent story line. However Angus Scrimm stands out as one of the best bad guys. See more
