Riley North awakens from a coma after surviving a brutal attack that killed her husband and daughter. When the system shields the murderers from justice, Riley sets out to transform herself from citizen to urban guerrilla. Channeling frustration into motivation, the young widow spends years in hiding -- honing her mind, body and spirit to become an unstoppable force. Eluding the underworld, the police and the FBI, Riley embarks on a deadly quest to deliver her own personal brand of punishment.

Critics Consensus

Far from refreshing, Peppermint wastes strong work from Jennifer Garner on a dreary vigilante revenge story that lacks unique twists or visceral thrills.

Bad timing can kill a movie that has everything going for it, but the problem with Peppermint isn't so much bad timing as tone deafness on an egregious scale.

Peppermint is jaw-droppingly ugly, horrendously violent, implicitly racist and routinely handled.

From a broader perspective, the film marks an intriguing new stage in Hollywood's ongoing effort to figure out what action movies about women (and aimed at them) should look like.

I really like the weightiness that [Jennifer Garner] brought to the material.

John Ortiz caps off the action with one of the silliest speeches in action movie history. And that bar is pretty high.

Insanely good. If you don't like this movie you either hate action, hate strong female leads, or have a tiny penis.

Seriously, whats with the Tomatometer score and why are these crticis just so wrong so much of the time? This film was brilliant. Well worth a watch. If John Wick had been Jane Wick - she could be her!

This was an amazing movie. Where the bad ratings came from I have no clue. Think John Wick as a woman. Was excellent.
