Pat and Mike is a wonderful, charming, and hilarious mixture of romance, sports, and gender expectations wrapped up in a comedy. Reportedly, this was Katharine Hepburn's favorite of the films she did with her longtime love, Spencer Tracy, and you can feel their chemistry, making all the little moments seem all the more special between them. The story follows a woman named Pat who decides to pursue a career in sports playing tennis and golf, and Mike comes into her life to become her manager who wards off her fiance, Collier, who makes her nervous when he's around, causing her to lose matches. As you'd expect, romance soon blossoms between Pat and Mike. It hits a lot of familiar beats, but the enthusiasm is contagious, the performances are superb, and it's a laugh riot from beginning to end. This is another knockout in the careers of the legendary stars and a must-see for those who enjoy a good comedy.
