[The Paradine Case] has almost everything to recommend it: a superb director, Alfred Hitchcock; an impressive cast, a typical expensive and authentic production by David O. Selznick and an exciting story. Go to Full Review

With all the skill in presentation for which both gentlemen are famed, David O. Selznick and Alfred Hitchcock have put upon the screen a slick piece of static entertainment. Go to Full Review

This is, bizarrely, a rather uneventful legal thriller, even with a combative exchange or two. Go to Full Review

Rebecca, the first collaboration between Alfred Hitchcock and David O. Selznick, led to a Best Picture Oscar; The Paradine Case, their final film together, led to a rare failure for Hitchcock and a draining of the studio coffers for Selznick. Go to Full Review

More than just an excellent example of Hitchcock's craftsmanship, The Paradine Case is an intriguing stew of subverted desire and the denial of satisfaction, and remains one of the auteur's most subtly perverse offerings. Go to Full Review

Hagrid R Feb 1, 2019 A bit of a miss-step by Hitchcock and weakest by some margin of his O. Selznick movies. The plot is drawn out and unengaging, an unbelievable obsession with the femme-fatale and a dull courtroom drama. Not memorable at all really. See more
Poe L Sep 24, 2018 The Paradine Case is a dry courtroom drama which, despite its subject matters, lacks passion or intrigue. Gregory Peck seems to have a difficult time emoting, and Alida Valli isn't as compelling as the film wishes her to be. I don't think Hitchcock put his heart into this project. See more
Han S May 18, 2017 Not even the world's most thrilling director, Gregory Peck, and an early Hollywood appearance of Louis Jordan can save this tedious, narcoleptic-inducing court-room drama. It does have its moments of course but the running time is quite unecessary and as a result, there is little or no tension to propell it forward or sustain interest to the viewer. See more
