Louis Stevens' service as a member of an elite military unit kept him out of the country for several years. Now that he's back home in Florida, he's dismayed at what's become of his old high school. He sees that drug dealers, dispatched by local overlord Silverio, sell on school grounds with little fear of getting caught. A skilled martial artist, Louis is determined to end the drug peddling, but to do so he'll probably have to duke it out with Silverio.

The cinematography is jarring and dizzying at times; the acting mediocre. Go to Full Review

Only the simple-minded will find much to cheer in this martial arts actioner, which has the queasy feel of a movie slapped together by the marketing department. Go to Full Review

A paean to the Brazilian martial art of capoeira harks back to those break-dancing quickies. Go to Full Review

Mark Dacascos did the work in this. Capoeira is not easy and I think the movie did a good job representing this fighting style. I greatly enjoyed this movie. Go to Full Review

This film is so out of control yet incredibly boring and uninteresting. The acting was either stiff as wood or absurdly over the top. Go to Full Review

It wraps up neatly with a touch of silliness, but, ultimately, as an action-packed demonstration of capoeira, this film is wholly proficient. Go to Full Review

Feb 17, 2019 Love this movie. Classic martial arts film with a diverse cast. Brilliant!
George S Feb 24, 2017 Not the greatest martial arts movie ever. But its the only one I've ever heard of that has capoeira front and center. My best friend in high school became fascinated with the fighting style because of Tekken, and somehow we came across this film. Honestly, its not bad. Yeah it's cliched as all get out, but the action is good, and it has a decent message I think. Of giving way ward kids something to do, and being able to take pride and honor in. See more
