What to Know

Critics Consensus

This likeable, goofy football comedy has its moments, but it ultimately adheres too closely to the sports movie playbook to overcome the cliches in the script.

For every sharp one-liner about a pampered college football team that's "so corrupt it could use its yearbook photos as mug shots," there's a brain-numbing plot development that's straight out of a desperate sitcom. Go to Full Review

The film itself is a genial, slight, entirely predictable football comedy, but it serves Bakula well. Go to Full Review

Jul 14, 2018 Appreciate the movie for what it is: good fun. It's not groundbreaking; it doesn't have a profound message. But it does what it sets out to do. It's got some funny lines that I still quote (don't throw it to Stonehands). If I find it on TV, I'm going to stop and watch it See more
Ron L May 3, 2018 Great 90s sports movie. Completely underrated. Great cast, good acting. Good on field shots and play. Worth a watch.
Hermione S Aug 19, 2017 Unnecessarily stupid.
