My Fellow Americans

What to Know

Critics Consensus

It doesn't commit any impeachable offenses, but My Fellow Americans lacks strong executive oversight of its toothless political satire and misuse of comedic talent.

With two of the screen's best comedic actors, a script that crackles with wit and surprise, and perfectly tuned direction, My Fellow Americans scores a bull's-eye. Go to Full Review

Using talent of this order on a script this weak, along with merely decorative appearances by the likes of Lauren Bacall and Wilford Brimley, amounts to the Hollywood equivalent of government waste. Go to Full Review

As political satire, My Fellow Americans makes a poor candidate. Go to Full Review

It won't my "vote" as the funniest movie I've ever seen, and despite its recycled qualities, it's not bad enough to warrant a special prosecutor. Go to Full Review

It's facile and relatively unambitious. But with the two stars, it's still fun and better than Grumpy Old Men. Go to Full Review

Abraham S Dec 29, 2018 Two political rivalry team up and save themselves in the most hilarious way
Theodore S Feb 19, 2018 My Fellow Americans is a decent film. It is about two former presidents who join forces to expose the current, corrupt President. Jack Lennon and James Garner give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Peter Segal did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the adventure and humor. See more
Hagrid R Feb 24, 2017 Jack Lemmon and James Garner star in the hilarious political satire My Fellow Americans. After narrowly escaping an assassination attempt former presidents and bitter rivals Kramer and Douglas team-up in order to expose a plot to cover-up a breaking political scandal. Lemmon and Garner are really good together and have great comedic chemistry. And the comedy is really well written, taking jabs at both political parties and lampooning modern political figures like Bill Clinton, Dan Quayle, and George Bush. Yet, the humor can get a little too silly and slapstick-ish at times. My Fellow Americans has some problems, but it's fun and delivers a lot of laughs. See more
Leia S Apr 10, 2012 This is a classic movie! Put this film on your Bucket List Garner and lemmon at their BEST
