Dennis Harvey Variety Aug 19, 2020
[T]his typically high-polish, psychologically angled Spanish horror-thriller is well handled in all departments even if its ideas never feel particularly fresh, or their execution more than solid. Go to Full Review
Jonathan Holland The Hollywood Reporter Aug 19, 2020
Enjoyable if unsubtle historical horror featuring a deliciously over-the-top central performance by Macarena Gomez. Go to Full Review
Anton Bitel Sight & Sound Nov 4, 2014

Luke S Aug 9, 2015 Macarena Gomez is absolutely sensational, delivering a complex and intense performance as a tragic figure that inspires both fear and pity in equal measure, and this anguishing (and always gripping) film does an admirable job combining family drama, character study and horror.
