It's funny. It's as cute as Paul Godfrey's hair. It has some nice songs. And, to borrow the title from one of them, sometimes it keeps Movin' Right Along. Go to Full Review
Meaghan Morris Sydney Morning Herald Apr 6, 2026
The story is quite cleverly devised to take [the Muppets] through a gamut of miniature Hollywood movies - especially westerns. There is a great deal of cute and charming slapstick, an occasional spot of satire, and some excellent music. Go to Full Review

"The Muppet Movie" may be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a real miracle. It's a G-rated film that neither talks down to children nor puts adults to sleep, and it offers humor, fantasy and warmth for everyone. Go to Full Review

"The Muppet Movie" is wholesome, witty, well-done and even - in its own way - engaging. That's a pretty impressive list for a film that is, more than anything else, just plain fun. Go to Full Review

Jan 26, 2019 The best musical comedy movie ever made! With the best movie song ever sung: Rainbow Connection!
Hagrid P Sep 6, 2018 With still-impressive puppet-effects, enormous amounts of clever dialogue, and enjoyably thorough, the Muppets started off their Hollywood legacy with a bang here. See more
Ron L May 23, 2018 I just read Jim Henson's biography so I'm rewatching all of his work. Could've been a little shorter, but otherwise his first movie holds up surprisingly well. I really liked the music. I was also surprised by the cameos of so many comedy legends (Bob Hope, Milton Berle, Edgar Bergen, Steve Martin, Richard Pryor, Mel Brooks). See more

Anakin P Sep 5, 2017 A classic Muppets movie for kids but it was not up to my standards to enjoy the only part I didn't like his work permit the frog lives and his song he plays on his instrument. Other than that I was not a fan of the movie, don't get me wrong though other mail like this movie See more
