Though he is the most brilliant supervillain the world has known, Megamind is the least successful. Thwarted time and again by heroic Metro Man, Megamind is more surprised than anyone when he actually manages to defeat his longtime enemy. But without Metro Man, Megamind has no purpose in life, so he creates a new opponent, who quickly decides that it's more fun to be a bad guy than a hero.

Critics Consensus

It regurgitates plot points from earlier animated efforts, and isn't quite as funny as it should be, but a top-shelf voice cast and strong visuals help make Megamind a pleasant, if unspectacular, diversion.

Its story's third-act inversions still provide a pointed rebuke to superhero narratives' set-in-stone dynamics.

It's a sassy comedy with a lot of one-liners, some of which apparently came from improvisation between Ferrell and Fey, both in good vocal form. The quality of animation is outstanding, as you would expect.

A full-bodied, busy-as-heck, funny-as-heck comedy adventure from Dreamworks that merrily riffs -- in its own fractured way -- on the Superman legend.

"Megamind" tackles and covers fascinating and uncharted ground. Not only is this kind of story become interesting to the adult viewers, but very cool for the kids who get to root for the bad guy.

Megamind is full of great laughable moments and daft antics performed by our main character (name in title) played by the brilliant Will Ferrell. Let's not forget the sheer amount of Big-Headed-ness which leads it to be one of Dreamworks' best! I will never get tired of watching this, no matter how old you are, it is just hilarious.

Megamind is a well rounded character that represents minorities in the audience well.

Not even its talented cast can save this film. Its clever concept is absolutely wasted on horrible execution. It also gives us poor characters with no conscious, jokes that don't deliver, many superhero cliches, a rushed conclusion, and a ridiculous ending. Its no wonder why this movie is so forgettable.

If you want a cheap/cringey laugh, an interesting twist on the super hero/villain story, with a strong cast and good soundtrack this'll do

A fun look at things from a super villain's perspective. Good voice work and animation.
