Newlyweds John and Jenny Grogan leave behind snowy Michigan and move to Florida, where they buy their first home and find jobs at competing newspapers. Soon afterward, the Grogans adopt Marley, a yellow Labrador pup. But Marley soon grows up to be a mischievous handful. Critics Consensus

Pet owners should love it, but Marley and Me is only sporadically successful in wringing drama and laughs from its scenario.

OK, I admit I cried a small bucket at the end... but at least I hated myself for it. This is bland and obsequious tripe or, as my own dog would say, "Woof!"

Sometimes, and especially on a crummy afternoon in the middle of March, it's nice to be able to switch off and settle down to enjoying the sight of middle-class families eating well and playing together in sprawling, bucolic gardens.

In the cinema, all of us tough, cynical critics had tears welling in our eyes, swallowing hard; our lips, so often curled in a cheap sneer, were now trembling, because of the same desperately sad thought: "Owen Wilson used to be really good..."

The production is light, filled with big love and sobbing cries, two talented stars that sufficiently play their roles, and plenty of awww moments the movie makes sure to replay during the end credits. What’s not to enjoy?

As sappy as it is, as a dog lover and a guy who loves seeing a happy family in any picture really these days, I admit with only slight reluctance that I enjoy Marley and Me.

A fairly decent and sweet film about a couple who adopt a dog and live their life. Its a nice idea that I kind of wish happened a little more often and here I thought was played rather nicely.

A beautiful movie, with a simple plot, and a heart wrenching ending that made the whole world cry their eyes out.

Very well acted movie with an ending that would leave you crying for 15mins straight even after the movie ended. However, the pacing suffers alot and it feels like 3-4hr long

Marley And Me, just like the book, is one of the greatest true story pet stories ever, possibly the greatest. I'm about to watch this classic again.
