A committed central performance and a controversial subject...mostly left unexplored in cinema, as it is in life, are the two main reasons to see this earnest, if slightly overlong melodrama. Go to Full Review

At two hours, the film feels a little long, but this is a heartfelt and human drama with the texture of truth and characters to care about. Go to Full Review

Though [it] still hits predictable topics — the closet, casual locker room homophobia, the threat of lost sponsorships should their secret emerge — it’s equally invested in developing its central love story, which is rare. Go to Full Review

Mar 30, 2019 Very good movie. Well worth watching.
Theodore G Feb 28, 2019 I wanted to like this. The idea of two gay footballers together is very appealing to me. Helps get away from the stereotypes about gay men. Unfortunately, it had a terrible ending that played into the old tropes going back decades. For that reason, I cannot recommend this movie. See more
Nov 3, 2018 A very deep moving story that shows the coming of age of a young soccer player.
Draco S Oct 31, 2018 1/21/2019 I see segments of my life as a younger gay guy in both of the protagonists. This is both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. The heart flutter and the pain of seeing the person you love together with someone else because of your own (un)doing is just too close to home. See more
Hermione R Oct 29, 2018 People are so confused. worst movie this year.
Draco R Oct 13, 2018 A somewhat overlong and occasionally predictable tale of forbidden gay love in a close-minded community (in this case, the world of European professional soccer). The film follows a fairly traditional formula until the last act, when it redeems itself with a wealth of heartfelt emotions and a few surprising twists and turns to help set it apart from other pictures of this stripe. Look past the minor shortcomings and you've got an otherwise solid love story. See more
