After a night of partying lands the spoiled heiress Jessica (Ally Sheedy) in jail, her millionaire father wishes he had never had a daughter, and he just happens to be overheard by genuine fairy godmother Stella (Beverly D'Angelo), who makes it so. Now, without Daddy's name or money, Jessica is forced to get a job as a maid in one of the mansions where she used to live. It's not all bad, though -- she soon has the hunky chauffeur Nick (Michael Ontkean) to keep her company.

Unfortunately, I found it too easy to anticipate most of the big moments. Go to Full Review

It's simply so cute, it's hard to resist and the supporting cast -- especially D'Angelo and Shawn -- bring it all to wonderful life. Go to Full Review

Rey G Feb 17, 2019 Great 80's classic movie with a awesome sound track. Beverly D'Angelo was a great fairy good mother. Merry Clayton has a great voice. Typical unappreciative rich girl having to learn the hard way how to appreciate what she has. Great life lesson. Must watch. See more
Rey S May 18, 2017 Maid to Order is a disappointing film. It is about a snobbish little rich girl is magically transformed into a penniless nobody after the results of a poorly considered wish. Ally Sheedy and Beverly D'Angelo give terrible performances. The script is badly written. Amy Holden Jones did a horrible job directing this motion picture. I was not impressed with this motion picture. See more
Kylo W Dec 4, 2008 I remember seeing this back in the 90's and not thinking it was terribly good, but here we are in 2017 and I know now what crap movies are (or I'm old and appreciating 80's and 90's movies more and more). I watched this on YouTube and I really found it quite a sweet little film this time around. Over the top characters, yes, but well intentioned and fun to watch. I love 80's fashions, but I do have to comment on how awful Ally Sheedy's hair was. Almost a mullet. See more
