Critics Consensus

Not as good as Swingers, but it's still witty and goofy enough for some laughs.

Unfortunately, Vaughn repeatedly crosses the line between persuasively playing an obnoxious character and coming across as nerve-gratingly self-indulgent. Go to Full Review

If the film's too ready to go with the flow of Chris Doyle's handheld camerawork, and sometimes seems ad hoc, its spot-on attention to the faux pas of the moment certainly raises a smile. Go to Full Review

Slick suits, hip urban nightspots, and an over the top performance by Vince Vaughn make this rambunctious farce an enjoyable and unpredictable movie with some obligatory fist fighting. Go to Full Review

Vaughn hits the bullseye as a strident, volatile jerk who can't keep his mouth shut. You never really like him, but you can't wait to see what he'll do next -- his missteps and offenses are so unbelievable you wince, but you can't look away. Go to Full Review

Finn R Sep 29, 2017 The team from Swingers for a film that can't recapture the lightning twice. Both the leads provide great characters and the film is very fuuny when the cast riffs of one another. Vaughn creates a character that is close to being unlikable and is tough to watch at times, great character development though. The film doesn't have the depth that Swingers had, Favearu is a great actor and writer but this is an odd film to make. He chose a few odd films during this period after the Swingers success which ultimately shut him down as the leading man. I liked the film chemistry, didn't love the story but I think it is a film that is worth checking out if you're fans of the actors. 28-09-2017. See more
Han M Jan 10, 2017 Not even half way through the movie you hope Vaugh somehow takes a bullet. Typical story, typical snooze. Not original at all. I can't even finish it. See more
Luke R Mar 26, 2012 Although it uses an overused plot and drags near the middle, chemistry and jokes exchanged between Favreau and Vince Vaughn are enough to make it enjoyable. The ending is perfect and brings it all together nicely. It has a purpose and consistently provides laughs despite its lack of pace. See more
