Valerie Grove The Times (UK) Apr 15, 2019
Stephen Poliakoff delivers a visually sumptuous two-part drama that unfurls these seismic events through the innocent, idiot-savant eyes of a little boy in a sailor suit, witnessing, but excluded from, his family's trials. Go to Full Review
Virginia Heffernan New York Times Apr 15, 2019
The movie is a little boring. Jacques Derrida, you are already missed. Go to Full Review
Mark Lawson Guardian Apr 15, 2019
The Lost Prince, along with Shooting the Past and Perfect Strangers, also represents Poliakoff's contribution to the changing form of television drama. Go to Full Review
Shane Hegarty Irish Times Apr 15, 2019
Poliakoff's script is scrupulous in its attention to the minutiae of the period and the quirks of a life lived in such exalted ignorance, yet the characters do not disappear in the detail, and it is rich in personality. Go to Full Review

Harry M Mar 31, 2018 A movie about the early 20th century, in which the Royal Family suffers the loss of King Edward VII and his successors King George V and Queen Mary have to deal with his youngest son Prince John, who has epilepsy and learning disabilities, as well as the entire First World War conflict and the loss of the House of Romanov, the Royal Family of Russia, who were all tragically murdered by the Bolsheviks. Leia W Jan 22, 2017 Somewhat touching story of the prince that lived a short life. Epilepsy kept him out of the family business and he had trouble learning and following. Meh, we play with the cards we are given (although inbreeding spoils the hand) and prince or not, it can be difficult. However, the prince was certainly as spoiled as can possibly be. The film epoch is very well recreated and we can witness the historic events unfolding related to the royal family. This in itself is worth the watch. See more
