[Craig William] Macneill's approach might be described as a so-so impression of art-house understatement, with lots of wide-screen compositions that make obvious use of negative space and a flat tone that might be mistaken for dramatic restraint.

Lizzie is a decent film, but it takes a long time to get to the juicy parts. Perhaps this story is best being adapted as a miniseries on so we can spend more time with this fascinating character.

Lizzie doesn't answer all the questions, but gradually gains strength and shape until it transmits to the audience the suffocating oppression, and psychological and physical abuse that abounded in this sick home. [Full review in Spanish]

I am not quite sure why this movie was made, but I can tell you that the two lead performances (Chloe Sevigny and Kristen Stewart) are fantastic, and the rest of the actors are excellent also. This movie doesnâ(TM)t add anything new to solving the mystery of Lizzie Bordenâ(TM)s personality, although it does do some speculating and interprets some of the known facts. It is also a beautifully done history piece with an atmosphere of claustrophobia. If you are not an expert on Lizzie Borden and/or you want to see some wonderful screen acting, I'd recommend to watch it with boxxy software app. This movie is well worth your time.

Acting was decent, was worth the watch but not anything very memorable. It seemed like they were reaching with the cinematography but the artsy shots were a bit juvenile in execution. Story focuses on a strong-handed, authoritarian, at times sadistic father, and a daughter who reaches her breaking point after a lifetime of being subjected to his b.s.
