Fourteen-year-old, hoops-loving Calvin Cambridge has a dream: to be a famous basketball player -- to mix it up among the NBA's greatest. But in a game dominated by giants with unparalleled athletic abilities, Calvin's diminutive stature and limited skills, make this a far-off fantasy. Or is it? After he laces up a mysterious pair of old sneakers inscribed with the faded initials MJ, Calvin makes the leap from playground hijinks to NBA superstardom...

Critics Consensus

A pleasant and innocuous diversion for kids, but adults may have trouble sitting through the movie's predictable plotlines and schmaltz.

Director John Schultz's movie is as lame and predictable as you'd imagine, and it's chock full of orphanage cliches.

There's no joke about the wretchedness that is Like Mike--except the cruel one on anyone who gets suckered into watching this crap.

Though it doesn't exactly offer any great shakes in terms of plot or character development, the film's entertaining enough to be watched by kids and adults alike.

It was a decent film. I don't get why a lot of people dislike it. Sure, the plot is cheesy, but it's executed well and the humor is good. The characters are likable. Lil Bow Wow did a great job in this movie. Rating: 5.7/10

Like Mike is a disappointing film. It is about a 14-year-old orphan becomes an NBA superstar after trying on a pair of sneakers with the faded initials "M.J." inside. Lil Bow Wow and Jonathan Lipnicki give terrible performances. The screenplay is badly written. John Schulz did a horrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture.

Pretty great movie I was a fan of this movie made me laugh when Calvin Cambridge plays professional basketball! He was pretty silly during this movie I like how Calvin Cambridge says make me like mike! Then he plays like MJ! You can learn from this movie you can see basketball moves Calvin does and plays then you can get motivated to play basketball, at least that's what I do when I watch this movie.
