Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter Mar 8, 2017
The screenplay, co-written by Gass-Donnelly with Colin Frizzell, manages to be simultaneously lacking in coherence and utterly predictable, with viewers earning no points for guessing which one of the characters turns out to be the villain. Go to Full Review
Rex Reed Observer Mar 8, 2017

Boring, derivative, and infuriatingly illogical, Lavender is a ghost story with no thrills, no surprises, and no sense. Go to Full Review
Kristy Puchko Nerdist Mar 4, 2017
Beyond its unsettling intro, it steadily becomes a middling thriller. Go to Full Review

This movie does not have any new ideas... but when an ending is good sometimes stuff can be forgiven. Go to Full Review

... that's fine and good if the viewer goes in knowing and just wanting to see a mystery unfold with not all of its questions being answered. Go to Full Review

Extra points to Gass-Donnelly for setting most of his scares during the daytime; even some of the familiar conventions of the genre (mazes, kids' lullabies, terror-fraught cornfields) seem fresh in the light of day. Go to Full Review

Mar 28, 2019 Don't understand why Jane's mom hated Patrick. He didn't mean to kill any of the family member. If Patrick was a pedophile, the movie didn't show it convincing. See more
Dec 27, 2018 Enough with the horror music!
Aug 20, 2018 Excellent I'm not looking under my bed for a long time If you like suspense this movie is a must see! Fabulous story line better than a lot of the slasher movies. See more
Jul 20, 2018 This would simply be your average bad horror film, but the music made me want to borrow the killer's hammer and hit myself over the head with it. See more
Kylo L Feb 24, 2018 Thank you Abby. I honestly cried so hard when the plot untwisted. I don't think this movie has received enough credit.
Feb 9, 2018 I like it. Suspenseful, some scary moments, and I didn't figure it out until close to the reveal. Only negative for me was Justin Long didn't fit the part. See more
