After I was born in prison I saw their faces, my mother and her prison mates and in their eyes and their faces the pain was too great to bear. I knew I was not just born to avenge my mother but for myself too. I did not know blood could spirt like it does in this movie! At the end, red blood on Japanese flag comes into contact with the rising sun is a intense as it reminds me of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The red son on the flag is covered in american blood as it points out the one aspect of a Nation taking military action in the interest of their country. The death of the hero puts the end of the circle of revenge as no is left alive. See more

Theodore W Apr 3, 2019 I can see that this is a well-loved film because of the stylism and colorful scenes, but I dislike it for many of the same reasons as Kill Bill. I tried really hard to not judge the film for its cheesiness and set flaws, but it was actually really difficult being that its claim to fame is for visual art. Hard to not find flaws in the art if that is the focus. The acting itself is very stylized and alright, but definitely not anything to write home about and the script itself jumps around a lot. The movie is almost entertaining because of it's anime quality, but has enough struggles to not really be all that interesting to me. Plus, the script bored me throughout, so I can't recommend it. Ron L Sep 20, 2018 This is a great revenge film...Grim, gruesome, with a plot you actually want to follow, this will keep you attentive. I will fully admit that a movie shot originally spoken in an Asian language can (and does) appear lacking emotion, this movie doesn't fall into that category. You know Yuki's motivation, and feel like you know her emotions in every scene. I guess its for these reasons that Quentin Tarantino entirely ripped it off for "Kill Bill"...why try to be a good film maker, when you can remake an obscure movie - with identical shots, side plots, and so forth - that's better than anything you can come up with? Then you can pretend to be groundbreaking! Watch this movie, and "Kill Bill" sucks. Oh, and if you want more proof Tarantino is a crap "film maker", (read: "thieving bastard") "Reservoir Dogs" is a half-arsed rip-off of a Chinese movie, "City on Fire". See more

Serves as a backdrop to the gore scenes to the minimal plot that is self explanatory. See more
