What to Know

Critics Consensus

Kill Bill: Volume 2 adds extra plot and dialogue to the action-heavy exploits of its predecessor, while still managing to deliver a suitably hard-hitting sequel.

n the hyper-kinetic Kill Bill 1 you didn't know when the end happened, in Vol 2 you often wish the proceedings could hurtle to the finale, fast. Go to Full Review

Vol. 2 fills in the motivational and emotional blanks that left the first movie tasting like a meal made only of appetizers. Go to Full Review

I don't even want to do Tarantino and his pathetic accomplices the honour of recounting the narrative of the second "volume" of this exercise in trashpedalling, and frankly I don't need to, because there isn't a plot to speak of. Go to Full Review

...Volume 2 is very different—in tone, textures, and rhythms—from its predecessor: here, the violence progresses towards minimalism, while the characters shed their abstract skin so that their souls can grow (and overflow). [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

It might be the more indulgent volume, but its willingness to explore the complex heart beneath the carnage makes it essential viewing and a journey well worth revisiting. Go to Full Review

As in many Tarantino films, his dialogue is never really specific to characters. It’s Tarantino’s world and everyone in it basically speaks the same way. But incredible actors like Thurman manage to make the lines her own. Go to Full Review

Hagrid P Apr 28, 2019 A perfectly satisfying second act (if you will) to the Kill Bill franchise.
Luke W Apr 21, 2019 The sequel to the violent and action-packed first one, but is it better? Honestly, no, it's not, but it's not bad. So, it's basically the same basis as the first but she gets closer to her target. I liked how they made it more serious instead of comical, there were some funny parts in it and that was enough. The story was the best part, making a big conclusion stand out and finishing a cool revenge story. The action is very neat when there was a fight scene; that was the main problem, it wasn't as action packed as the first. There were some eyebrow raising moments that was pretty cool but overall, a not bad sequel but could've been so much better. See more
Apr 8, 2019 It is a bit slow, but the dialogues are perfectly structured.
Mar 29, 2019 Where the first film was riding high in terms of action and andrenaline, this film opts for delivering a slow but more than worthwhile burn. The acting is magnificent, with some very poignant and gut-wrenching performances from the leads. This film is easily superior to the first in terms of story-telling, with a number of enjoyable twists and revelations. It does get a little slow from time to time and there is one scene that feels very unnecessary. Other than that however, one of my favorite films even after 15 years later. 9/10 See more
Kylo W Mar 29, 2019 One of the few revenge movie I liked (volume 2)
Ron S Mar 19, 2019 I liked the first one better. So unbelievably slow and felt so different from the first one. However, the acting and the cinematography was great. What l didn't like was the too much dialogue, l think that made the film have a slow-paced feeling.. I was just expecting more action and camera tricks on it. The music is good but l prefer Vo. 1's soundtracks. Overall, mediocre movie comparing to epic and classic Vol. 1. See more
