Kurt Sloane (Alain Moussi) has always been there for his brother, Eric (Darren Shahlavi), who's known in the martial arts world as a modern-day warrior. But when the ruthless and undefeated fighter Tong Po (Dave Bautista) brutally ends Eric's life in a no-holds-barred match in Thailand, Kurt devotes himself to training with a master in a quest for redemption and revenge.

Finally, 27 years after unleashing Jean-Claude Van Damme on the world, Kickboxer, the martial arts franchise that refuses to die, is boldly rebooted with the supremely silly Kickboxer: Vengeance.

This lean, unpretentious entertainment delivers everything one might want from a film titled Kickboxer: Vengeance - including, at the last, an homage to the younger Van Damme's disco-dancing prowess.

"Kickboxer: Vengeance" isn't going to raise anyone's SAT score, but it's passable in the realms of kickboxing cinema and will hold your attention during late-night cable viewing.

Van Damme and Bautista are certainly the main reasons to watch Kickboxer: Vengeance, and help make it an enjoyable piece of old fashioned martial arts fun

This reboot takes itself far too seriously, and ends up being more of a dour experience, lacking in anything all that fun or memorable.

Maybe in the next one, we can cut out the middle man and watch Van Damme's Durand train someone with more personality than a cup of tapioca.

I really love the reboot of this franchise! I prefer the remake to the original Kickboxer. Alain is a fantastic martial artist! He did a great job doing all the stunts himself. I recommend everyone to watch this great action film!

Fight scenes so blatantly choreographed that if you added music it might be a Step Up from what we got...

Good Fight scenes, It was nice to see Van Damme take on a Teaching/Master role.

Idk what Van Damme was thinking with these movies...It is no way close to the original, idk if it was trying to be..The only thing that is, is the character names and the concept..While it should of been a spinoff with new character names and Van Damme returning as Kurt Sloane in a low budget show original for Netflix...That would of been interesting...This new guy has sum good moves that mimic Van Dammes famous jumping spread kick or spinning kick..Much like Scott Adkins this guy is pretty good..And its fun to watch what move he'll try next but these new Kickboxer movies lack the Van Damne charisma of the original, the emotion and the spunk..The dancing segment was a nod to Kickboxer 1 but useless to the overall movie..Cmon Van Damme..U could of wrote a better original script..
