Anchored by a nicely understated performance by Seann William Scott, "Just Before I Go" effectively juggles a wealth of genuine, at times profound, emotion with quite a bit of nutty-raunchy humor. Go to Full Review

Lurches along a wobbly line between salacious comic nastiness and nauseating sentimentality. Go to Full Review

At times, it's hilarious, but the tone changes so much that it becomes hard to keep up. Go to Full Review

Cox must have seen something in this screenplay that encouraged her to film it, but whatever that critical element was, it's not apparent in the finished product. Go to Full Review

Han S Dec 19, 2018 It's almost unbelievable to imagine a Sean William Scott led rom-com directed by Friends' Courtney Cox to work as well as out did, but you've gotta give credit where credit is due. This film makes a great evening watch as it explores stereotypical rom-com tropes but excels in intensifying them through emotionally engaging moments and addressing real life issues that are completely relatable to many viewers. Sean William Scott performs well deeper being out of his typical typecasted roles and manages to encapsulate a protagonist who yearns for direction and purpose. At the heart of this film is Central feelings of loss, depression and secrecy yet the themes are intertwined so well with upbeat and modestly lewd comedy moments that it creates an almost realistic world for the viewer. Critics will always look down on this film which a severe disservice to potential audiences. The characters are outlandish, vital plot points are ludicrous to say the least but the payoffs and unique approach will undoubtedly soar this film into a cult status in due time. It's not a perfect film but like the characters the film plays and owns up to its flaws creating an honest and enjoyable viewing experience. A must watch for lovers of Garden State, Just Friends, Juno, I Love You Man and Bruce Almighty. See more
Dec 2, 2018 What do the critics know?!. Nothing.. its a great film with some hilarious lines... A dark, twisted but very funny film about life, love and a dysfunctional family. Great casting. I loved it. See more
Nov 30, 2018 This film hasn't scored the bullseye but certainly isn't far off the mark. Some scenes are awkward at times, and the flow of the competing stories and fight for space within what is a moderate running time, make for messy interaction. The film is saved though by enough originality to make it interesting to watch and consider, and some really genuinely brilliant comedy. See more
Draco W Nov 26, 2018 Original, moving at times, occasionally funny, overall quite watchable. 10% critics score?!? Really??? Behave.
Draco G Nov 25, 2018 Think the critics are being a bit harsh on this one. It’s no masterpiece but it’s far from terrible at the same time.
Oct 2, 2018 This movie deserves more stars. Although raunchy, it has an inspirational message. I thought it was pretty funny and it was just my kind of goofy. I love Shawn William Scott and thought the rest of the cast was great. See more
