After being persuaded by a wealthy businessman to conduct an aerial tour of Isla Sorna, InGen's second site for a failed Jurassic Park experiment, Dr. Alan Grant discovers the true reason for his invitation. A tragic accident maroons the party of seven, and they must attempt to escape with their lives.

Critics Consensus

Jurassic Park III is darker and faster than its predecessors, but that doesn't quite compensate for the franchise's continuing creative decline.

The third film is neither as scary nor as serious as the first two. It borrows heavily from its predecessors and the Alien series, and runs out of energy.

Still, JP3 suffers from second-sequel fatigue and lacks a star who can boost its energy.

There will never be another "Jurassic Park" film this nasty, brutish and short again. Honestly, the franchise will be all the poorer for it.

Personally, i really enjoyed it for some parts. Of course it wasn't as good as the previous films. But for me, it was quiet enjoyable even if it had some problems.

Fast and fun, Jurassic Park III, in my opinion, is better than the second film, because it has a pleasant rhythm, a splendid direction of Joe Johnston, that does not reach the feet of Spielberg but also does not disappoint, a excellent soundtrack of Don Davis, exceptional visual effects and good performances by Sam Neill, William H. Macy, Alessandro Nivola and Trevor Morgan

What I found quite disturbing was the husband and wife's coy attitude in their reaction to each other with scarce clothes on. After that the film was spoiled for me.
