Hagrid R May 6, 2018 I only rated this 3 out of 5 stars because of Jessica Chastain's excellent performance as the 16 to 25 year old Jolene who is always searching for acceptance and love and only finds heartbreak instead, throughout her 10 year journey in this story. The only other compelling character in this drama was Coco Leger portrayed by Rupert Friend who unfortunately had very little screen time. See more

Hermione M Mar 20, 2018 Jessica Chastain is superb. Not a satisfying ending, tho the journey there is filled with unusual twists & turns. If this were a true story, the woman would have to be made of granite. Man, she had it hard. See more

Draco R Mar 18, 2018 Ok, so I'm currently among only half that liked the movie. I give it a high rating due to its emotional content and great acting.---- Long review: The landscape was beautiful, each moment engaging, and it was the innate kindness of Jolene I liked most, played by the talented Jessica Chastain. The other actors/actresses were all familiar faces to me, but in surprisingly different characters from what I had seem from them before, all well-acted. I appreciated Jolene's narration, because her bizarre journey itself without her voice might have had me feeling creeped out. Jolene, is innocently guilty, awfully naive and focuses on the best in others, who all mysteriously want to possess her. All the positive characters disappear one way or another while some of the bad ones get what they deserve but at her expense, which made me sigh again and again. Then the movie ends uncertainly. Good movie though that will stick with me. See more
