The most interesting bit about Jagga Jasoos is its musical structure. Go to Full Review

Where visuals, tone and treatment are concerned, Basu has given us a film unlike anything we've seen in recent Indian cinema, proving, if nothing else, the endless possibilities of a boundless imagination. Go to Full Review

Even if this film might feel like an epic misfire at times, Anurag Basu's deliciously zany, ambitious adventure drama, when it is on song, has an oddly bewitching quality. Go to Full Review

Jagga Jasoos brings together a range of quality ingredients, but something has gone wrong in the cooking of it. It is highly engaging up to a point, but needed tighter writing and direction to stay on course. Go to Full Review

Basu and Kapoor might have made the mistake of dreaming with their eyes open this time. But it isn't a fatal one. It's a passionate one. It's spectacularly committed and, most of all, hopes for another day. Go to Full Review

Hermione W Apr 6, 2018 This is, without a doubt, one of the best movies I have ever seen. The songs emphasize what I feel is a beautiful movie laced with emotion and slight hilarity. See more
Draco W Mar 15, 2018 A good concept, if made with tighter budget and with more planning could have become a classic even. But ends up being a movie with way too many ideas See more
Ron S Feb 18, 2018 A long journey (not a hundred feet) in the footsteps of great storytellers like Sir Doyle, Hergé (Georges Remi) and sometimes J.M. Barry that seldom gets boring and full of fun and surprises. Entertaining and heartwarming. A film to watch with kids while drinking a bit of hot chocolate and humming some songs in Hindi. Fun. Theodore W Jul 28, 2017 A fun story and likable characters. It would probably do better if the dialog were dubbed (while leaving the music intact). Reading the subtitles made it hard to keep an eye on the incredible visuals of this movie. The movie starts out a bit slow, but by the end feels like an adventure of the Indiana Jones type. And everything wraps back to the story at the beginning so that those make more sense. There were several great musical scenes that I found myself watching the movie and not reading the subtitles. Not a perfect movie for everyone, but satisfying nonetheless. My kids were able to follow the gist of the movie, but I'm not sure the youngest caught the main subplot of arms dealing. The main plot follows Jagga searching for his father who is in hiding. With the final scene it is apparent that the movie was meant to have a sequel, but that doesn't spoil the charm of this film. I understand that this film was somewhat experimental as far as Bollywood movies go and some parts of the experiment works better than others. Overall, it is definitely worth seeing. My son thinks this will be a cult classic and compared the movie to "100 year old man who..." and "Hunt for the Wilder people". Although those are better overall experiences, if you enjoyed those, you should see Jagga Jasoos. See more
Leia G Jul 27, 2017 My first Hindi film, I loved it! It was fantastic and the plot was like Indiana Jones crossed with A Series of Unfortunate Events. All the songs were catchy, especially Bad Lucky. Hoping to enjoy many more fantastic films such as this. See more
