Every scare is telegraphed, every plot turn telegraphed and almost every scene is so poorly lit that you'd be forgiven for thinking Heydon shot with night-vision goggles. Go to Full Review
Noel Murray Los Angeles Times May 24, 2019
Ultimately, "Isabelle" is too split between the serious study of parental anxiety and regret that Crew and Brody are playing, and the more straightforward (and not scary enough) spook-show it eventually devolves into. Go to Full Review
Elizabeth Kerr The Hollywood Reporter Oct 12, 2018
Quickly paced and based on a novel, and creepy, idea, the film fritters away its potential by delivering only a modicum of horror and compounding that disappointment with some creaky performances. Go to Full Review
Natasha Alvar The Critical Movie Critics Mar 22, 2021
...some of the horror sequences are well done, with some interesting visuals as well, but it is in the handling of grief and mental illness that the movie stumbles. Go to Full Review

The film feels rushed, over-stuffed with every trope out of the Supernatural Drama Handbook. Go to Full Review
Kat Hughes THN Oct 14, 2019

At first glance, Isabelle seems to be a fairly generic affair, but its careful and considerate handling of a traumatic experience helps catapult it apart from its peers. Go to Full Review

Draco S Dec 21, 2018 Needed different direction...Amazing storyline that had so much potential. As Mr. Debruge said, the scary thing here is that Rob Heydon has 20 years directing. Time to move on from directing.***EDIT - The only other review on this movie is from the director's wife.*** See more
Poe G Oct 14, 2018 Loved it. Great scary film...
