What to Know

Critics Consensus

Despite its two stellar leads, Into the Night finds director John Landis indulging in far too many gimmicks in lieu of a well-rounded story.

"Into the Night" features cameo appearances by 11 directors, none of whom had the sense to get behind the camera and help the 12th, John Landis. Go to Full Review

The film itself tries sometimes too hard for laughs and at other times strains for shock. Go to Full Review

Pfeiffer in particular takes the sort of glamorous yet preposterous part that generally defeats even the best actress and somehow contrives to make it credible every inch of the way. Go to Full Review

There are a couple of jarring sequences that feel tonally wrong, but, overall, Landis and scripter Ron Koslow keep the picture sure-footed and fleet-footed. Go to Full Review

Poe S Jun 2, 2018 Jeff Goldblum's subdued quirkiness finds a soulmate in the equally offbeat Into the Night. The dreamlike caper features plenty of cool cameos and is directed with a pleasantly light tough by John Landis. Good, slightly dirty fun. See more
Albus G May 20, 2018 Cocaine ideas at a stoner's pace.
Albus S Nov 14, 2017 Interesting premise, with some great cameos throughout, but it all ends up being rather dull and drags or far too long. It's entertaining enough, but not something I'd race out to see. See more
Luke W Jul 18, 2017 Despite the problems that this comedy-thriller has it isn't without its charms or positive elements. The cast is great (with plenty of cameos throughout), the score/soundtrack is excellent (with original music by the great B.B. King), the action is solid and the plot is decent enough however I didn't find it all that funny and it is rather hollow but it is at least mostly entertaining. See more
Rey P May 13, 2017 The worst movie I've seen in years
Draco L Apr 28, 2017 Funny, weird, off-beat in every sense (including production values).
