Critics Consensus

Even the endless shots of bronzed beach babes and buffed dudes can't keep this soggy scuba flick's plot from drowning.

Into the Blue is fun to watch because it's, well, fun to watch - particularly when its stars dive into the blue in their various skimpy bathing suits (which they do often), but it's not much of thriller.

This movie, I think, needs a lot of attention, not only because of the stunts or the action sequences, but because of the wonder and beauty of the Bahamas. So grab your scuba diving set and jump in.

Great shots of underwater scenery. No antagonist for at least the first hour, so the lack of real conflict makes it seem like you're watching vacation videos.

The movie is beautiful to watch, but the plot carries little suspense. Paul Walker's character is indistinguishable from what he plays in the Fast and Furious franchise -- probably on purpose. Look for one of the supporting characters to be one of the biggest jerks in cinema to receive a happy ending.
