An unlikely trio of pets -- aging bull terrier Bodger, spry Labrador retriever Luath, and Siamese cat Tao -- begin missing their owners after being dropped off for the summer with a friend of the family, John Longridge, who lives across the country from them. Their loneliness becomes unbearable, however, when John leaves on an extended camping trip. The three animals resolve to find their way back home, no matter how difficult -- and even if that means journeying over 250 miles.

Feb 1, 2019 The best inspiring movie ever made!
Ron S Apr 15, 2017 170415: The word "quaint" comes to mind. This narrated adventure involving two dogs (Bodger & Luath) and a cat (Tao) harkens back to simpler times. Interesting to see Disney portraying firearms in such a casual manner. From a young boy hunting alone, to John Longridge's cottage with its three unsecured long guns and ammunition, Disney's political position obviously lay towards the conservative at one time. Firearms used both positively and productively and not a single character concerned for that matter. Social engineering has changed so much. The film itself is still a bit of fun forty-seven years later. Animal adventures, both domestic and wild. I especially liked the drama surrounding Tao, the cat. From being washed down stream to eluding a Lynx, Tao brings on the action for these three pets travelling homeward bound. Not sure how todays younger generation would embrace this film but Disney's Incredible Journey took me back to my youth. Happy with that. See more
Anakin W Mar 26, 2017 Classic Disney animal film about three pets, two dogs and a cat, who travel over 250 miles across the wilderness to find their owners. This is a film I watched so many times as a kid that I think I've lost perspective on it, but it still seemed like great entertainment watching it now with my own children. I loved the folksy narration by Rex Allen and the bright music by regular Disney composer Oliver Wallace. Overall, this film isn't art or an American film classic, but it is a classic Disney animal tale that still holds up nearly 60 years later See more
Finn S Feb 25, 2010 A heartwarming live-action Disney classic. The filming is lovely and captures some beautiful nature footage. This movie was remade even better in the nineties as Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, although I adore both. (First and only full viewing - 1/16/2010) See more
