Critics Consensus

Compact and effective, In Fear offers discerning horror fans a smart and disturbing plunge into the depths of cinematic anxiety.

In Fear is a slickly made, impressively pared-down horror/thriller but is too abstract for its own good - it is hard to feel any great emotional identification (or fear) for characters who so sketchily written.

With limited resources [Jeremy Lovering] has created a disturbingly tense and chilling scenario we can all identify with.

Despite falling into a couple inevitable conventions of the genre... In Fear's deranged ambiguity and quiet madness make for a terrifying viewing experience.

When the evil finally steps out of the dark, that eerie feeling completely dissipates, leaving a poorly made film with a gossamer-thin premise without its best and only weapon.

An extremely claustrophobic horror/thriller. Everything is scary, from the time of day, to the setting, to the villain, to the predicament our two protagonists face. There are definitely scares to be had, though imho there are more scares in Act 2 than then Act 3. Regardless its a really fun scary movie to watch.

Well that was a gruesome little chiller! Although a pretty standard stalker car chase movie, it had a few interesting twists

Though there's nothing new here, the film does an adequate job of keeping things tense and creepy in a mostly low key way.
