Casey Carlyle (Michelle Trachtenberg) is supposed to go to Harvard, just like her mother (Joan Cusack). While Casey has the grades to get into her mom's alma mater, what she really wants to do is pursue her passion: figure skating. Both Casey's mom and Gen (Hayden Panettiere), the captain of the local team, scoff at the idea of Casey on the ice. But Casey soon finds an unlikely ally, and coach, in Gen's mom, Tina (Kim Cattrall), a former skater trying to live down mistakes from her past.

Critics Consensus

This likable Disney film gets points for effort, but can't stick the landing when it comes to originality.

There's nothing wrong with that old fashioned, squeaky-clean Disney formula. When it's well done, it can be a refreshing break from the crude comedy of most family films today. Yet Ice Princess is not particularly well done. Go to Full Review

Hagrid P Nov 11, 2017 Acting and writing made me vomit. Or maybe it was the 2 gallons of water I drank half way through the movie.
Oct 26, 2017 There is a loophole in the plot. For example one part states that the coach taught her daughter to be strong and not just take it. However the coach's daughter put up with her mom and her ice skating dreams. I thought that part was a little unrealistic. Overall the movie I thought was pretty good. See more
Leia M May 29, 2007 I love ice skating, Panettiere and Cusack which is probably why I found this movie quite enjoyable.
