What to Know

Critics Consensus

I Heart Huckabees certainly isn't for everyone, but audiences attuned to its quirky wavelength will find a singularly brainy screwball comedy that refuses to pander.

It's like a '30s screwball comedy that's gone to grad school...hits the ground running, flinging verbal and visual information at you with machine-gun velocity. Your mind is engaged and delighted. Go to Full Review

While superficially I Heart Huckabees is a deranging experience, it ends up being deeply reassuring. Go to Full Review

I ♥ Huckabees is a rarity-a tremendously optimistic film for a truly dark time. Go to Full Review

Here’s a film that, both in story and execution, is centered on the idea of finding order among chaos, and for viewers more accustomed to a tidy, straightforward narrative, the results can understandably seem like a helter-skelter experience. Go to Full Review

The strength of I Heart Huckabees lies almost entirely in its vivacious, critical, slightly manic-and not unsympathetic-pictures of confused and struggling Americans. Go to Full Review

Leia R Mar 15, 2019 Genius. I don't know of any other movie that uses humor so well to ask whether the foundation of reality is connection or nihilism. See more
Hermione W Feb 1, 2019 Horribly attempting to string along a 'larger' than life picture. Slap comedy BS. Good cast but nothing redeeming about the final result. Completely uninspiring and a torture to finish, I regret not taking a mud bath myself instead of wasting my time watching this. See more
Rey S Jan 11, 2019 A clever, funny farce with an excellent cast.
Theodore W Nov 25, 2018 This was too well received. It was too easy to watch, contained a lot less sustainable provocation than it needed and asked too much of the audience. See more
Nov 22, 2018 Fantastic movie, you have to ignore the pretentious wanky critics who've never read nor understood existential philosophy and just enjoy it. Compare it to any other American movie and the rest would pale Iin depth and texture. Possibly the best movie If all time. See more
Rey S Jun 10, 2018 An enjoyably weird film with an incredible cast that is essentially about an "existential detective" agency that helps people Get Woke. I am seriously not sure how this came about nor how they got so many people to sign on but it's a lot of fun. See more
