What to Know

Critics Consensus

I Feel Pretty has a charming star and the outline of a worthwhile comedy -- but unlike its suddenly confident central character, it suffers from a fundamental lack of conviction.

I Feel Pretty is presenting itself as the kind of film that reveals how ugly we are for laughing at body-related stereotypes, but then why make those your jokes? Go to Full Review

Is this stuff supposed to be funny? These scenes are cut and shot like they're jam-packed with laughs, but our audience was so quiet and uncomfortable, you'd think we were at a rep screening of 'Shoah.' Go to Full Review

Like a few too many films churned out of the predominantly male studio system and marketed to a female audience, you get a sense that, deep down, it doesn't have a particularly high opinion of women. Go to Full Review

“I Feel Pretty” centers the ordinary woman, gives her the delusion, adds a dash of The Devil Wears Prada, and depicts her personal aesthetic in the vein of Reese Witherspoon in “Legally Blonde.” The premise feels familiar but is subversive. Go to Full Review

“I Feel Pretty” is a movie with a message – a genuinely good message. And we are constantly getting whiffs of it throughout. Unfortunately it’s buried in a tonally challenged film with an glaring identity crisis. Go to Full Review

Albus W Apr 14, 2019 Quirky, funny and bizarrely charming.
Ron S Apr 14, 2019 4/12/19 This is a pretty silly premise, but there are still some funny parts. Certainly not a must see. Even still it kept me entertained even though it is just an average film. See more
Apr 8, 2019 I would give any movie by this fat piece of lard a negative 100 stars. Period.
George W Apr 8, 2019 Truly one of the worst movies i've ever seen. Horribly scripted, and the main characters acting as some type of degenerate making the movie more frustrating to watch than funny.. See more
Apr 6, 2019 Funny, thoughtful, enjoyable. The only peopel negative about the movie are people afraid the truth will change the world. The truth is we are good and can become better just by believeing in ourselves. See more
Hagrid S Apr 1, 2019 Comedy full of bad jokes would be better than a comedy with no jokes.
