What to Know

Critics Consensus

It's positioned as the start of a franchise, but I Am Number Four's familiar plot and unconvincing performances add up to one noisy, derivative, and ultimately forgettable sci-fi thriller.

The logic is dodgy, and the most frightening aspect is the sequel promised at the end. Go to Full Review

If Pettyfer and Agron were less amorphous figureheads, and there had been a better script, the enjoyment might have been more. Go to Full Review

Its slavish adherence to formula is pitiful, but this patchy knock-off may do just enough to earn itself another go-round. Go to Full Review

A soft recommend. Pettyfer and Agron have zero chemistry (but great hair!) in a film that's much more interested in action setpieces than characters or lore. Teresa Palmer steals the show as Six. Go to Full Review

There’s simply nothing exceptional about the film, which becomes a problem when its foundation comes almost exclusively from established pop-culture material. Go to Full Review

Apr 20, 2019 I've read all of the books and yes it left out a lot of stuff and I think the adaptation of course left some confused or hard to understand the plot of the series but overall I think it's great and I'd love to see a sequel. See more
Harry R Mar 24, 2019 Messy yet entertaining
Mar 10, 2019 I was greatly disappointed by this film, not because I was expecting it to be good, actually quite the opposite. Many told me how bad this film was and after watching it, I have to disagree. It is not a perfect film, far from it. There are many plot holes, some of the effects do not hold up, and though the performances aren't horrible many of the actors do seemed to have been casted to do bada** stuff while looking good. Despite this it is still a fun and creative popcorn flick which will leave the viewer satisfied. I give I Am Number 4 a B, and though there are better films out there if you are bored I recommend giving this film a watch. See more
Jan 31, 2019 I don't know what they are talking about, this was a good movie. I'd watch it again and again. I do like the story plot and it wakes you want to see more. I'd love to see a sequel. There is so much story to tell. See more
Jan 19, 2019 Awesome movie. It has an old truck a motorcycle action packed for almost an hour straight and the love story. One of the best movies Iâ~ve seen. See more
Ron R Dec 6, 2018 This was a great movie. My only complaint is that there needs to be a sequel. It is very disappointing that plans for a sequel were shelved. See more
