Zombie wants his film to be gleefully demented, but he fails to grasp that loud, inbred evil people torturing stupid, grating benign people isn't disturbing as much as tedious.

A great movie if shortened. The movie needs to end right before or right after the "Red Hot Pussy Cat Liquors" scene. If before, after the shooting of Naish and Don Willis would be a good climax to the movie. Everything *after the* liquor shop scene with Gerry Ober is just plain silly and poorly done. The movie is grittier, and it is a weightier film, if it ends as mentioned, and is a great set up for the next movie, the Devil's Rejects. 5 stars if the movie is edited down.

This movie is mixed bag for me. I kind of like it but it's not that good. I do like the beginning of the movie though. Captain Spaulding is awesome too. I can see why people like this movie and I can also see why people don't like this movie.I do like the editing as well. I remember this movie scared the s*** out of me has a kid though but it made me grow some balls and now I don't get scared easily anymore. I saw this movie when i was 12 by the way. All in all it's a weird 88 minute music video.
