What to Know

Critics Consensus

Jack Nicholson embodies Hoffa with malevolent relish, but a dearth of meaningful insight knocks this crime epic off the mark by a nose.

Big and portentous, Hoffa feels like a series of acting exercises inflated to epic proportions. But as a portrait of unionism's most controversial figure, it offers only flickering illumination. Go to Full Review
Adam Mars-Jones Independent (UK) Nov 14, 2017
Hoffa, with its jaundiced script and a director wedded to his rose-tinted spectacles, is a mess, with only the sterling truculence of Nicholson's performance to mitigate it. Go to Full Review

Finn S Feb 12, 2017 Jack Nicholson becomes Jimmy Hoffa in a stunning and powerful performance as a champion of the American Labor Movement. An engrossing film; however, the pacing and narrative falls apart at times, especially in regards to the conflicts between Hoffa and RFK. See more
Ron M Feb 7, 2017 Phenomenal movie that explores the character of Jimmy Hoffa in depth. A lot of emotion and character arc intermixed with moments of excitement such as the fight in the yards. I highly recommend this movie! See more
